I never stopped loving you
For ‘The Pleasure of Love’ exhibition, I invited a group of people who specifically deal with emotions as a basic media of self-expression and self-definition. Away from the field of art, sports fans create and participate in mass choreographies, articulating both support and criticism through pathos, a communication technique contrary to logos. Their invitation to the exhibition changed the premises of their long-lasting experience in developing audio-visual performances far removed from art institutions. Under these changed contextual premises, the invited group develop a site-specific choreography aimed at exposing the audience to a strong affective transfer. Hence the displacement of a sports performance within the exhibition and redirection by interruption developed during the exhibition destabilized normative forms of the art field and biennale itself.
The work I never stopped loving you includes both an installation reframed into the existing conventions within the exhibition and a group choreography, which was performed three times during the Salon by actors, choirs, volunteers and football fans.
